It was a pleasure to see so many IBIS families and staff members at our Books and Breakfast event this morning. The perfect start to the day!

We ate breakfast together, listened to beautiful stories and enjoyed talking about our favourite books with each other.

Thank you to everyone who helped to organise and run the event, and to all the families who came and shared it with us.

Happy Birthday, IBIS!

IBIS is 60 years old this school year!

We are going to make the most of this important birthday and will keep everyone informed as to how that will happen. In the meantime, we have a favour to ask of our wider community. We need your help to bring the last 60 years to life.

Through photos: the older the better as these are rarer, but really anything that you think should be shared with our community and which illustrates how you felt about your time at our school, from the early days of the British Embassy Preparatory School (BEPS) through to IBIS as you find it today.

Through memories: if you a story or anecdote about our school, as BEPS or IBIS, that you’d like to share with us, we’d love to hear it so we can share with our community.

Virtual Open Week

Independent Bonn International School (I.B.I.S.) – Virtual Open Week

From the 22.03.2021 – 26.03.21, I.B.I.S. will hold a Virtual Open Week, which will allow potential families to visit the school from the comfort and safety of their own home.

Although, with all hygiene rules in place, the school continues to welcome guests and interested families to the school, the Virtual Open Week will allow those who are unable to visit in-person to explore the school; to meet key teachers and members of staff, see things from the perspective of an I.B.I.S. student and to attend a special virtual concert.

Teaching is slowly returning to normal at school, but lessons have been learned from the period of ‘remote learning’, that can continue to be of use for post-pandemic times, according to Headteacher Mr Philip Wharton: “Through adapted timetables, Zoom lessons and our own Cloud platform, our school worked hard to ensure that our students didn’t miss out during the various lockdowns we’ve had, and although we are very happy to see students slowly return to school, we are equally keen to use our new found virtual experience and expertise in other areas of school life.”
